nice it was but unsatisfying at the end of it.
I bought this novel for the word 'sinister' written on the synopsis of it and the beginning of the plot telling about head-covered Muslim woman as the main character excited me. (finally i can picture a character to myself)
mumtaz hakim worked in Arnold agency, private detective agency. Maria peters, harsh comedian went to them to report about a stalker, disturbance she faced. With all the surveillance set up in her house, she felt even more perturbed and she tended to reject them. On one fine day, Mumtaz found herself sobbing and maria at last asked her to be her company. She stayed together, but worked with Lee (from Arnold Agency) covertly on information she acquired from Maria's house. She'd been consuming pills a lot that would kill her. At some extent, Mumtaz took her headscarf off to dosguise as one of the members of church, to sneak inside, to see what Pastor Paul Grint had exerted on her, while she became actively involved in churches activity, influenced by Betty, her schoolmate. She was known as obscene comedian, to resist anything about religion, let alone going to church. but then, she felt stalked, and the thought of going to church as to wash away all of her sins became hardened.
Mumtaz went inside the church to watch Paul Grint did some kind of exorcism (dodgy but Maria and Betty believed it), and she approached Maria to see that she's been hurt. They all uncovered her disguise, and she was rerejected by Maria. Nevertheless, she kept followin her until she found that Betty was behind the crime.
Betty made Maria believed that suicide is going to Jesus and let the sins be washed away.
Mumtaz had a stepkid, Shazia, daughter of Ahmed Hakim, whom married to Mumtaz because of their parents but the guy was actually a gangster, indebted to lots.
Nice anyway.
